Awards

Everything we do is daring, ingenious and fun. Our awards acknowledge and prove that our ground-breaking SKYACTIV Technology is an unbeatable combination of efficiency and driving performance. Take a look at our most recent award wins below.

Mazda MX-5 named Best Convertible at 2017 What Car? Awards

“Despite facing new competition this year, the Mazda MX-5 has triumphed again. We love its rev-happy and punchy 2.0-litre engine, its simple mechanical roof and its temptingly low price. Even better, the MX-5’s ride and handling proves beyond any shadow of a doubt that less is more. Its lightweight chassis construction makes for a driving experience that’s guaranteed to brighten your day, and with surprisingly good fuel economy, this is a fun car that’s both cheap to buy and run.” –WhatCar?, 2017.

Mazda CX-5 named Best Large SUV less than £25,000 at 2017 WhatCar? Awards

“Mazda's SKYACTIV Technology has given the CX-5 some of the lowest CO2 emissions and highest fuel economy figures in the class, beating those of rivals such as the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4. However, the Mazda CX-5 also has the space to rival them, because its interior is large and the boot a generous size. It handles exceptionally well for a large SUV, too, while the amount of standard equipment you get is plentiful considering the car’s relatively low price.”–WhatCar?, 2017.

Mazda wins the inaugural Motor Trader Quality Award 2016 for Approved Used Car Network of the Year

Curtis Hutchinson, Editor, Motor Trader, said “The overriding criteria was to identify which companies are delivering the highest quality products, and services. Motor Trader awarded Mazda for their impressive approved used programme and Mazda’s National Used Car Locator”.

Mazda MX-5 wins World Car of the Year 2016

“What a wonderful honour, to have the Mazda MX-5 named both World Car of the Year and World Car Design of the Year,” said Masahiro Moro, President and CEO, Mazda North American Operations, and Managing Executive Officer, Mazda Motor Corporation. “As our iconic MX-5 roadster approaches one-million units of production, this award is proof that it is as young, vibrant, fun and relevant as ever, and proof that every Mazda looks as incredible as it drives, and drives as incredibly as it looks."

"While I accept this award on behalf of the company, I do so representing every Mazda employee, retail partner and customer around the world who has ever felt the joy of driving a pure roadster.”

Mazda CX-5 wins What Car? Awards 2016 Best Buy for less than £25,000 - Large SUV Class

What Car? Commented that, “the Mazda CX-5 retains its crown at the cheaper end of the large SUV class, helped in part by the revisions applied last year. Mazda has revised the suspension, refreshed the styling and improved the interior, infotainment and noise suppression.  It remains spacious inside and usefully practical, and the ride is more forgiving. In short, it’s a superb car made better.”

Mazda MX-5 wins What Car? Awards Best Convertible 2016

What Car? Test team said, “In terms of fun per pound, this little roadster has the market cornered. Sure, there are faster hot hatches with more power, but they don’t deliver the fresh-air frolics and sweetly balanced rear-wheel-drive handling of the Mazda. Everything about it feels ideally suited to the UK, from grip levels to the high-revving engine and diminutive proportions.”
